Laughton Boys 3-1 Killamarsh Dynamos

3rd time lucky for Laughton as they beat Killamarsh at the third attempt this season. It was an extremely cold morning, the wind howling but Laughton managed to seal victory. Killamarsh opened the scoring, with Laughton playing up hill into the wind. And we did a good job to keep it at 1-0 until half-time. After the break Laughton scored through a brilliant Kyle Daly free-kick, curling it into the top right hand corner with ease. The Killamarsh 'keeper made a good save but could only force it into the path of Kyle Daly who slotted home from 2 yards out into the open net, for his second of the game. With the game coming to a close Danny Clough ended his goal drought and scored his first of the season. A neatley placed header to make it 3-1 to Laughton. Laughton now sit on top of Division D on 25 points with 2 games in hand on the team below.

Woodhouse Juniors 1-6 Laughton Boys

On a terrible pitch, Laughton carved out a victory over sorry Woodhouse. Almost straight from kick-off Laughton were awarded a penalty after Danny Clough burst into the box and was clattered. Skipper Callum Howis drilled the ball into the back of the net to make it 1-0 to Laughton. It was James Rogan who popped up with the second soon after. More Laughton pressure brought more rewards, Danny Clough's pass from the age of the area, hit Jamie Pinders ankle and fell to Alex Hodgson who side-footed it in from 8 yards.

Half-Time: 0-3

Minutes into the second half and half-time substitute Kyle Daly scored his first of the game, with a cool finishes and he grabbed his 2nd later in the half. Brad Baxter who came on up front, scored the final goal. Although Woodhouse pulled one back it was only a consolation goal. The boys did well on a pitch at least an inch thick with wet mud! Many chances were fluffed due to the conditions, on a better pitch, Laughton could have at least doubled their tally.

Hackenthorpe 1-2 Laughton Boys

Match report from todays away win against Hackenthorpe:

The game was very tight was both sides producing good chances, it was Laughton who opened the scoring, throught Tom Oxby, defender turned striker. But Hackenthorpe leveled soon after. Thats how it stayed until half-time. At half time manager Ian Sutcliffe brought on Alex Hodgson to replace Tom Oxby. The game looked as if it was going to be a draw, with both sides going close. But it was Alex Hodgson who scored the winner for Laughton, neat play by Carl Harrison near the by-line found Hodgson who hit the ball side-footed across goal only for a Hackenthorpe defender to get the last touch and guide it into the net. Another 3 points for Laughton, who are now a point off top spot with three games in hand.

Laughton Boys 2-1 Greasborough Youth

Laughton won 2-1 in a very tight game, Laughton created few good chances, but Greasborough, 2nd bottom in the league, wanted a draw atleast. Greasborough scored early in the 1st half, but only mintues after the re-start, Laughton scored through Jamie Pinder, the ball came through, and Pinder did well to chip the ball over the grasp of the outcoming keeper and into the back of the net to level things up. It stayed 1-1 until half-time. Laughton's winner came from an own goal, Kyle Daly played in a corner Jordan Dodsworth met it with his head, the keeper saved but the Greasborough defender on the back post comically tried to clear the ball across the face of his own 6 yard box, but he poked the ball into th opposite corner of the net. It finshed 2-1 and it was good for Laughton to get back on track with a scrappy win. And Laughton have drawn Killamarsh Dynamos away in the Trophy.

Thorncliffe Colts 1-1 Laughton Boys

Both teams were up for this game, Thorncliffe are top of the league, Laughton are in 4th with 3 games in hand. The Colts took the lead in the 1st half almost direct from a corner. The corner came in 'keeper Sam Atkins couldn't get a hand to it and the Thorncliffe player was on hand to kock it in. Later, Hodgson took a few touches, and hit a shot straight at the crossbar. But just before half-time Laughton were awarded a free kick just inside their own half, the kick was taken by Jordan Dodsworth, up towards Alex Hodgson who nodded it down to Tom Oxby to stab home from six yards out. Towards the end of the game, Hodgson played a good ball to substitute James Rogan in the box, who hit a shot on goal but the Colts 'keeper made a fine save. And thats how it stayed until the final whistle, a decent enough away point for Laughton on a muddy and bobbly, small pitch.
